It gives me great pride and pleasure to announce the upcoming launch of The Hewison Foundation, to be held at our office on Tuesday 24th November. The foundation will be a standalone, not for profit public ancillary fund governed by Hewison Directors and responsible persons, John Hewison, Chris Morcom and Andrew Hewison.
Over Hewison Private Wealth’s 30 years, the company has provided its shareholders, staff and stakeholders with great reward in many areas and for many years now we have worked hard to assist those less fortunate than ourselves. In particular, our annual charity trivia night raises much needed funds for local not for profit charities. In October this year, we raised $8,000 for The Sacred Heart Mission in St Kilda, a not for profit assisting the homeless and abused.
Having extensive experience in working with and managing the assets of many not for profits, Hewison Private Wealth now believes we are in a position to successfully create and grow a not for profit of our own to provide much greater assistance to those less fortunate.
The key aims of The Hewison Foundation are to:
- Support the prevention of and services to victims of domestic violence: and,
- Support services to disadvantaged youth.
These areas of support were decided at the 2015 Hewison staff conference by our own staff members.
Hewison Private expects to make significant contributions to the foundation annually and in addition, various fundraising activities will be conducted. The first event will be The Hewison Private Wealth Annual Charity Golf Day, to be held on 12th February 2016 at Victoria Golf Club.
We expect that The Hewison Foundation will provide a valuable opportunity for Hewison shareholders, staff, clients and stakeholders to give back to those less fortunate in our communities via donation of their time or money.
