Samantha Sun is the Head of Advice at Hewison Private Wealth, bringing more than a decade of experience across financial planning, compliance, practice management and industry leadership. She first discovered her passion for financial advice as a paraplanner, witnessing firsthand the life-changing impact great advice can have particularly during moments when financial security eases life’s most difficult challenges.

In her role at Hewison, Samantha leads with purpose and collaboration, guiding a team of passionate advisers who represent the next generation of the profession. She is committed to enhancing the advice process, strengthening the client experience, and ensuring the firm continues to set the benchmark for excellence in financial planning

A dedicated contributor to the broader profession, Samantha has volunteered with the Financial Advice Association Australia – FAAA (previously the FPA) for 13 years. As Secretary of the Melbourne Chapter and lead for Inspire, she has helped grow one of Australia’s most active networks for women in advice from early gatherings of 40 attendees to more than 342 today.

Samantha’s career spans paraplanning, compliance, training, complaints handling, national practice management and leadership roles across marketing and technology. This breadth of experience gives her a deep understanding of how to build strong, future-focused advice businesses.

Outside of work, Samantha recharges outdoors cycling, kayaking or exploring new places when the weather is warm, and sewing when it’s not. She loves immersive travel experiences, with a recent driving holiday through Canada among her favourites. A fun fact: in her teens, she was one of the few women performing the traditional Chinese Lion Dance.
