Hewison Private Wealth
A significant moment in the Hewison Private Wealth story
4 Sep 2026

After nearly 24 years with Hewison Private Wealth, including 11.5 years as Managing Director, Andrew Hewison will transition from the role towards the end of 2026.
Andrew will remain Managing Director throughout the transition period. After stepping away from his day-to-day executive responsibilities, he will continue as a director and shareholder of Hewison Private Wealth and remain involved in the firm’s future direction.
The decision was made in 2024 and has been carefully considered and planned by Andrew, the Board and shareholders over the past two years.
“This is not a decision I have taken lightly,” Andrew said.
“In November 2024, I shared with key people at Hewison Private Wealth that I believed I had approximately two more years to lead the team with the passion, drive and enthusiasm the role deserves.”
“Raising it early gave the Board and shareholders time to build a deliberate transition plan, strengthen our executive team and establish a clear strategic path forward.”
Nearly 24 years with Hewison Private Wealth
Andrew joined Hewison Private Wealth at 22, shortly after completing university, beginning his career as an Associate Adviser. Inspired by the client relationships and success stories shared by his father, Hewison Private Wealth founder John Hewison, Andrew quickly discovered a career and an industry to which he wanted to commit himself.
He spent more than 12 years as a Wealth Adviser before becoming Managing Director in 2015. During his 11.5 years in the role, Andrew has led the firm through a period of considerable growth and development, expanding its advice capabilities while protecting the culture and client relationships established throughout its 40-year history.
“It has been one of the great privileges of my life to grow this business alongside our people,” Andrew said. “I am enormously proud of the team and culture we have built, and I believe both are central to the trust our clients continue to place in Hewison Private Wealth.”
Preparing for Hewison’s next chapter
Andrew’s decision formed part of the firm’s longer-term planning and was considered throughout the process that led to Hewison Private Wealth’s recently announced partnership with Pemba Capital Partners.
Hewison Private Wealth and Andrew were transparent from the outset that the firm’s future would include a transition to a new Managing Director. Pemba has been supportive of the succession plan, and an executive search has been underway for some time.
The Board is taking a considered approach to identifying the right person to lead the firm.
“Whoever succeeds me will inherit an exceptional business: a passionate and talented team, clients who have trusted us for decades and a culture built from within,” Andrew said.
“Finding the right person is more important than completing the process quickly.”
Continuity for our clients
Andrew’s transition will not affect Hewison Private Wealth’s advisory team, client relationships, investment philosophy, client-service model or direct asset ownership approach.
Clients will continue working with the team and their strategies and portfolios will continue to be managed in the same way.
Andrew will write to clients again once the appointment process is complete. In the meantime, he remains fully committed to leading Hewison Private Wealth through the transition and preparing the firm for its next chapter.
“I’m not leaving Hewison Private Wealth,” Andrew said. “After stepping away from the day-to-day responsibilities of Managing Director, I will remain on the Board and continue contributing to the direction of the business.
“It has been the privilege of my career to lead Hewison Private Wealth and to know so many of our clients personally. I am incredibly grateful for the trust they have placed in me and in our team.”
